Kenneth Loxton Weeks, who was born on October 5, 1913, is an Australian person who is over 110 years old. At the age of 112 years and 218 days, he is the oldest person still alive in Australia. He is also the oldest man whose age has been officially confirmed in Australian history.

Biography

Weeks was born on October 5, 1913, at his grandparents' home on Dovedale Street in Grafton, New South Wales, near the Clarence River. He was the first of five children born to Darcy Edwin Weeks and Dorothy Forster (née Loxton). As a child, his family moved to a riverside farm in Swan Creek, and he later attended Grafton High School. After leaving school, he worked for the Model Homes Company, which built roads. He later ran a service station in Brisbane and, with Charles Alvey in Grafton, operated a car dealership. In 1941, at the start of World War II, Weeks married Jean McPhee (1911–1986), and they had two sons.

During World War II, Weeks tried to join the Royal Australian Air Force but was not accepted due to medical reasons. After the war, he started a business selling and repairing radios and electrical equipment. He ran this business for several years before opening a milk bar instead. Weeks also worked as an airfield constructor during the war, a truck driver, a petrol station operator, and an employee at the Grafton Match Factory.

Weeks's wife died in 1986 after 45 years of marriage. He lived alone until he was 104 years old. Shortly before turning 105, he moved to a nursing home in Grafton.

He currently lives in Clarence Valley, New South Wales.

Longevity

After the death of 110-year-old Frank Mawer on September 17, 2022, Weeks became the oldest known living man in Australia at nearly 109 years old.

Weeks enjoys eating Heinz Baked Beans. Because of this, Heinz created special cans of beans to celebrate his 110th birthday.

After the death of 111-year-old Olga Abate on June 5, 2024, Weeks became the oldest known living person in Australia.

In October 2025, he celebrated his 112th birthday, becoming the first Australian man to reach this age.
