Math Mysteries is a series of five math-related educational video games designed for Windows and Macintosh computers. The games were created and released by Tom Snyder Productions. They were developed to meet the NCTM standards that were in place at the time. The series includes the following titles: Math Mysteries: Measurements, Math Mysteries: Whole Numbers, Math Mysteries: Fractions, Math Mysteries: Advanced Whole Numbers, and Math Mysteries: Advanced Fractions.
Development
The series is designed to help students who have difficulty solving math problems. Each product includes two CD discs. The first CD is called the Whole Class CD. It allows teachers to choose specific math skills for their students to learn. Students use this CD to learn how to understand problems, gather important information, collaborate in groups, and find solutions to math problems. The second CD is called the Mystery CD. It lets students explore math topics on their own and practice the skills they learned in class.
