This article is a list of important unsolved problems in astronomy. These problems can be theoretical or experimental. Theoretical problems happen when current theories cannot explain what scientists observe or the results from experiments. Experimental problems occur when scientists cannot test or study a theory. Other problems are about special events that have not happened again, and the reasons are not clear.
